Ruby On Rails Developer

We are seeking a Ruby on Rails Developer to join our San Francisco development team. This position is an integral part of a team that works on the platform’s customer engagement portal, which allows merchants to reach their customers.  We are looking for someone who is passionate about building an intuitive and cutting-edge, self-service experience for our customers.  

As a part of the Engineering team, you will be building a scalable solution that millions of users will be using as their primary mobile interface to submit and pay for their orders. Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic
  • Strong commitment to TDD (Test Driven Development) practices using RSpec
  • BS in Computer Science or related field and 3-5 years of technical work experience
  • Fluency in OO design and development
  • Someone who is comfortable with diverse technology stacks
  • Minimum 2+ years of Ruby on Rails development
  • Minimum 2+ years with REST APIs using JSON
  • Minimum 2+ years experience with databases, including table layout and design, and SQL Queries - MySQL. NoSQL a plus
  • Skilled with debugging tools and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of multi-tenant systems, secure coding practices, and authentication/authorization

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with creating user stories from requirements, estimating effort, and planning coming workload
  • Experience with Agile teams/development
  • Experience with systems integration, both internal and external
  • Experience designing and implementing multi-tiered systems applications
  • Experience with programming and operating in Linux operating systems
  • Experience working with, selecting, and integrating 3rd party gems
  • Experience working with AWS technologies
  • Experience with Delayed::Job

Nice to Have

  • Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, SASS or LESS, JS, Angular
  • Software as a Service experience a strong plus
  • Experience with Slack, JIRA, New Relic, and Splunk
